Stihl FSA 30 Cordless Brushcutter

The STIHL FSA 30 isn’t just another cordless trimmer; it is a specialized precision tool designed to replace the heavy, awkward trimmers of the past. As the first grass trimmer in the STIHL AS System, it shares the same high-performance AS 2 battery as the iconic GTA 26 garden pruner, making it part of an ever-expanding ecosystem of effortless garden care. While competitors offer basic “rotating heads,” the FSA 30 features a true 90° pivot architecture and a telescopic shaft that instantly converts the unit into a dedicated vertical edger. Weighing a feather-light 2.3 kg (including battery), it provides the most balanced “swing weight” in its class, allowing you to maintain up to 200 metres of lawn edge with surgical accuracy. For the Irish homeowner looking to achieve a “Chelsea Flower Show” finish without the noise, vibration, or exhaust of petrol, the FSA 30 is the ultimate weekend companion.

• 90° Lateral Edge-Pivot: Most trimmers only tilt; the FSA 30 rotates a full 90 degrees. This allows the user to walk on the lawn while the blades cut vertically, providing a perfectly straight, manicured finish along paths and driveways.

• The “Blade Garage” Storage Hook: Never interrupt your workflow. The handle features an integrated, recessed storage area for up to six spare PolyCut blades, allowing for a tool-free swap-out in under 10 seconds if you hit a stone.

• Aero-Blade Efficiency System: By utilizing aerodynamic PolyCut 3-2 polymer blades instead of standard nylon line, the FSA 30 reduces air resistance and motor strain. This is the secret to its 19-minute runtime on such a compact battery.

• 8-Stage Precision Telescoping: The shaft isn’t just “adjustable”—it features eight distinct locking points to ensure the tool’s center of gravity matches your height exactly, virtually eliminating lower back fatigue.

• “Tree-Saver” Folding Guard: A heavy-duty metal spacer bracket protects delicate sapling bark and flower stems. Unlike plastic guards, this folds away completely when you need to clear tight corners or under-bench growth.

• Silent-Flow Technology: Rated at a low 76 dB(A), this is one of the few power tools you can legally and politely use on a Sunday morning in a quiet Irish residential estate without ear protection or neighbor complaints.

• Tactical LED Fuel Gauge: A simple thumb-press activates the 4-LED matrix on the side of the tool, giving you a real-time percentage of your battery life so you’re never caught short at the far end of the garden.
