Stihl RMA 243 4-in-1 Cordless Lawnmower

The STIHL RMA 243 is a significant upgrade in the AK System, moving away from the polymer decks of smaller models to a torsion-resistant sheet steel housing. This professional-grade construction provides a stable, “weighted” feel that prevents the mower from bouncing on uneven turf, ensuring a laser-straight finish that plastic mowers can’t match. With a 41 cm cutting width and a powerful 1200W motor, it bridges the gap between domestic convenience and heavy-duty durability. Most uniquely, the RMA 243 features an integrated 4-in-1 mowing system—enabling you to collect, rear-discharge, side-discharge, or mulch without buying extra kits. Coupled with Eco Mode that intelligently drops RPM on shorter grass, it maximizes your AK 20 battery to cover up to 230 m² while maintaining a near-silent 76 dB(A) sound pressure level.

• Dual-Slot “Smart-Switch” Powerhead: Unlike the single-slot RMA 235, the RMA 243 features two active battery slots. This isn’t just storage; it allows for an “instant-swap” workflow. When your first AK battery hits zero, you can switch to the second in five seconds, doubling your working area to 460 m² without walking back to the garage.

• Mono-Comfort “Access-All-Areas” Handle: The single-sided handlebar design is a game-changer. It allows you to lift the grass catcher box straight up without maneuvering around a traditional U-shaped frame. This reduces back strain and speeds up emptying cycles by 30%.

• Extended 100mm “High-Cut” Range: While most battery mowers max out at 70mm, the RMA 243 features a 7-level central height adjustment that reaches 100mm. This makes it the only AK mower truly capable of handling “forgotten” lawns or long meadow grass without stalling the motor.

• Flow-Optimized Multi-Blade: The factory-fitted blade is aerodynamically curved to create a high-pressure vortex. This doesn’t just cut; it “vacuums” the grass upright before the strike, ensuring that even flat-lying damp grass is pulled into the 52-litre catcher.

• IPX4 All-Weather Certification: Most domestic mowers are “fair-weather” tools. The RMA 243 is IPX4 rated, meaning its electronics are fully protected against splashes from any angle. You can mow on damp mornings or in light drizzle without risking the brushless motor’s circuitry.

• Acoustic “Downward-Slat” Grass Box: The 52L catcher is engineered with side slats that direct air and dust toward the ground rather than into the operator’s face. This keeps you clean and ensures the box fills to 100% capacity before the “Full” indicator drops.
