Stihl RMA 248 4-in-1 Cordless Lawnmower

The Stihl RMA 248 breaks the “plastic mower” stereotype by featuring a high-tension powder-coated sheet steel deck in a category where competitors almost exclusively use polymer. This isn’t just for durability; the rigidity of the steel housing creates a more stable vacuum environment, allowing the flow-optimized blades to generate superior lift for a cleaner cut on damp grass. Part of the versatile AK System, this mower features a smart Dual-Battery Slot—while one battery powers the high-torque EC motor, the second slot acts as an onboard “reserve” so you aren’t left stranded halfway across the lawn. With a wide 46cm (18″) cutting path and an active Eco-Mode that automatically adjusts blade speed based on grass density, the RMA 248 delivers the “heavy-duty” feel of a petrol mower with the whisper-quiet stealth of a battery-powered 36V system.

• Torsion-Resistant Steel Chassis: While most battery mowers flex on uneven ground (causing uneven cuts), the RMA 248’s steel deck remains perfectly rigid. This ensures the blade maintains a constant parallel to the ground, delivering a uniform “bowling green” finish even on bumpy or sloped terrain.

• Dual-Slot “No-Return” Powerhead: The mower features two internal battery ports. You can carry your spare AK 20 or AK 30 battery inside the machine’s sealed housing. When the first battery hits 0%, you swap them in seconds without walking back to the shed or garage.

• Acoustic Slotted Grass Box: The 52-litre catcher isn’t just a bucket; it features specialized downward-facing air slats. These direct the exhaust air toward the ground rather than toward the operator, preventing dust and pollen from being swirled up into your face during dry summer mows.

• 4-in-1 Mowing Versatility: Almost unique in the AK range, the RMA 248 (specifically the latest 2-series models) supports four modes: Collect, Drop, Side-Discharge, and Mulch. You can switch from high-volume collection to side-discharging long orchard grass without needing a single tool.

• 10-Year Mono-Handlebar Warranty: The distinctive Comfort Mono-Handlebar is only mounted on one side, allowing you to lift the grass box straight out the back without wrestling with a traditional “U-frame.” This handle is so over-engineered it comes with its own 10-year domestic warranty—a major trust-building spec for SEO.

• Spring-Assisted 7-Point Adjustment: The central height lever (20mm to 100mm) is backed by a heavy-duty coil spring. This offsets the weight of the steel deck, allowing you to change the cutting height with a single finger rather than hauling the weight of the machine upward.
