Stihl RMA 239 Cordless Lawnmower

he Stihl RMA 239 C is not just another plastic push-mower; it is a masterclass in ergonomic efficiency for small to medium-sized lawns. While most mowers use a standard U-shaped handlebar that obstructs your access to the grass box, the RMA 239 C features the innovative Mono-Comfort Handlebar. This single-sided, reinforced pillar design allows you to slide the grass box on and off with one hand—completely unobstructed. Combined with a flow-optimised blade that creates a powerful internal vortex, this mower achieves a 99% fill rate in its 40-litre box, ensuring you spend your time mowing rather than stopping to empty half-full bags. It is the only mower in the AK System that balances a 37cm cutting width with a sub-15kg weight, making it the “scalpel” of the gardening world for tight corners and sloped borders.

• Asymmetrical Mono-Handle Access: The single-sided handlebar isn’t just for comfort; it is offset to provide unrestricted lateral access to the grass catcher. You can lift the 40L box vertically without tilting the mower or fighting with cables, a design feature that almost no other mower in this price bracket offers.

• Airstream Fill-Level Logic: Unlike cheap mowers with a clear “window” that immediately gets covered in wet grass, the RMA 239 C uses a mechanical flap indicator. It stays up as long as the internal airstream is moving; the moment it drops, you know the box is aerodynamically full—even if you’re cutting damp, heavy grass.

• Low-Drag “Vortex” Blade Design: The blade isn’t just sharp; it’s shaped to minimize air resistance. This “Flow-Optimised” geometry allows the 900W motor to spin at 3350 rpm while drawing significantly less current from the AK 20 battery, effectively extending your runtime by up to 15% compared to standard flat blades.

• Spring-Loaded “One-Finger” Height Adjustment: While competitors use stiff plastic levers at each wheel, the RMA 239 C features a centrally mounted, spring-assisted lever. Because it’s counter-balanced, you can cycle through all 5 height settings (20mm to 70mm) with a single finger, even when the mower is weighted down.

• Downward-Facing Dust Vents: The 40L grass box features specialized side slats that direct air and dust toward the ground. This prevents the “cloud effect” where dry grass and pollen are blown back into the operator’s face—a critical feature for allergy sufferers that is never mentioned on standard spec sheets.

• Compact “Garage-Ready” Fold-Down: The mono-handle folds completely flat over the top of the polymer deck in under three seconds. This reduces the storage footprint by 40%, allowing the mower to be tucked under a workbench or hung on a wall—the ultimate solution for homeowners with limited shed space.
