Stihl KMA 135 R Cordless Kombi Engine Unit

The STIHL KMA 135 R is the industrial-grade evolution of the cordless KombiSystem, designed specifically for professional contractors who need to swap from hedge trimming to leaf blowing or soil cultivation in seconds. Unlike consumer-level multi-tools, the KMA 135 R is built with a die-cast magnesium housing and a commercial-spec EC brushless motor that matches the torque of a 30cc petrol engine without the fumes, fuel mixing, or vibration. Engineered for the Irish landscaping sector, its IPX4 weather-resistant certification means the rain doesn’t stop your workday. With a single AP-System battery slot integrated directly into the powerhead, it eliminates the need for external battery cables or hip-pouches, providing a streamlined, high-performance solution that makes it the most versatile tool in your van.

• Metal Mesh “Anti-Clog” Air Filtration: While competitors rely on foam or paper filters that fail in dusty conditions, the KMA 135 R features a fine metal mesh filter. It optimizes airflow for motor cooling and can be cleaned in seconds with a simple brush or air-line, drastically extending the service life of the electronics.

• 3-Stage “Battery-Saver” Tactical Cockpit: The handle features a high-visibility LED display that allows you to toggle between three power levels. This allows you to drop to Level 1 for light edging (extending battery life by up to 100%) or jump to Level 3 for heavy brushwood clearing.

• Bi-Directional Smart Communication: The KMA 135 R communicates with AP 300 S and AP 500 S batteries via a digital interface. If the tool detects it is being pushed too hard, it doesn’t just cut out; it intelligently adjusts torque to prevent motor damage while maintaining cutting momentum.

• Anti-Vibration “Floating” Shaft: The internal drive coupling is designed with a specific harmonic damper that absorbs high-frequency vibrations before they reach the loop handle ($1.6\text{–}5.0\text{ m/s}^2$), allowing for professional “All-Day” usage without the risk of Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).

• Smart Connector 2 A Integration: The housing features a dedicated mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector. This allows fleet managers to track operating hours, maintenance intervals, and GPS location via the STIHL Connected App—a feature almost entirely overlooked by standard retail descriptions.

• Quick-Release “Anti-Torsion” Coupling: The reinforced sleeve coupling ensures that attachments like the HT-KM Pole Pruner or BF-KM Pick Tine remain perfectly aligned under high torque, preventing the “spinning” or loosening common in domestic multi-tools.
