Stihl FSA 200R Cordless Brushcutter

The Stihl FSA 200 R is the most powerful battery brushcutter in the world, delivering a massive 1.6kW of mechanical output—a 60% increase over the FSA 135 R. This isn’t just a trimmer; it is a direct cordless replacement for the FS 361 C-M petrol clearing saw. While other battery units “nibble” at thick vegetation, the FSA 200 R utilizes an industrial-grade EC motor that detects the resistance of the material and maintains a constant RPM, allowing you to swing through waist-high nettles and dense scrub without the motor ever bogging down. Even with this staggering power, it operates with a sound pressure level that allows for work without ear protection (depending on the attachment), opening up a 100% “silent-operation” window for municipal contracts in school zones and hospital grounds.

• Automatic Tool Recognition & RPM Mapping: The FSA 200 R is the first in its class to feature Intelligent Tool Detection. When you switch from a nylon line to a metal grass blade, the internal sensors automatically adjust the maximum RPM and torque curve. This ensures the 450mm cutting circle is always optimized for the specific mass of the attachment, preventing energy waste and motor strain.

• Pro-Grade Anti-Vibration Spring System: Unlike smaller models that use rubber buffers, the FSA 200 R features a full mechanical spring-decoupling system between the drivetrain and the handle. This drops vibration levels to an industry-leading 3.3 m/s², allowing professionals to operate for a full 8-hour shift without hitting the “Vibration Exposure” legal limits that plague petrol units.

• The “Quick-Mount” Loop Handle System: Designed for multi-user fleets, the handle features a cam-action quick-release lever. You can slide the handle to accommodate a 5’2” or 6’5” operator in three seconds without tools, ensuring the barrier bar is always at the perfect safety distance to prevent leg contact with the blade.

• Air-Cooled Mesh Filtration: High-power electronics generate heat. The FSA 200 R is built with a fine-mesh metal air filter (not foam) that provides maximum cooling airflow to the motor while remaining 100% washable. This prevents the “overheating shutoff” common in other pro-sumer battery tools during mid-summer clearing.

• Direct-Drive External Rotor Motor: Most trimmers use a motor at the top with a drive cable; the FSA 200 R uses an external rotor EC motor located at the head. This places the weight exactly where you need it for balanced “pendulum” swinging and eliminates the energy loss found in traditional flexible drive shafts.

• Smart Connector 2 A “Live-Data” Port: This unit has a dedicated internal connection point for the Smart Connector 2 A. Unlike the standard sticker-on sensor, this version plugs into the control board to provide real-time speed setting history and fault detection directly to your fleet management portal.
