Stihl HSA 140R Cordless Hedgetrimmer Body only

STIHL HSA 140 R: The Zero-Emission Successor to the HS 82 Petrol Icon

The STIHL HSA 140 R isn’t just a battery trimmer; it is a professional-grade disruption to the status quo of heavy-duty pruning. Specifically engineered for “R” (Pruning/Rough-cutting) applications, this machine delivers the same crushing torque as the legendary HS 82 petrol series but with the instant, whisper-quiet response of AP System technology. While other cordless trimmers focus on speed, the HSA 140 R prioritizes clearing power, utilizing a specialized two-step planetary gearbox that slows the blade speed to maximize cutting force. This allows the 38mm wide-tooth blades to bite through thick, woody stems that would stall a high-speed trimmer. Built to endure the dampest Irish winters with an IPX4 weather rating, the HSA 140 R is the ultimate tool for contractors who need to reduce oversized hedges without the fumes, noise, or vibration of a combustion engine.

• Two-Step Planetary High-Torque Gearbox: Unlike standard direct-drive trimmers, this unique gearbox converts high motor RPM into massive cutting pressure, ensuring the blades never “bounce” off mature, woody branches.

• Intelligent “Anti-Jam” Blade Reverse: If the cutters encounter a branch too thick to slice, simply release and pull the trigger again; the motor instantly reverses the blade direction to unblock the jam without manual intervention.

• Friction-Optimized Pruning Blades: Borrowing the exact diamond-ground geometry of STIHL’s petrol flagships, the “R” blades feature longer teeth and wider spacing 38mm to pull large volumes of material into the cutting path.

• Constant Power Electronics: Most battery tools fade as the charge drops; the HSA 140 R features a digital controller that maintains a 100% consistent stroke rate from the first cut until the battery is completely depleted.

• 90° Rotating Multi-Function Cockpit: The rear handle rotates 180 to lock in the most ergonomic position for vertical or side-on cutting. Crucially, the speed control cockpit stays within thumb’s reach regardless of the handle’s orientation.

• Integrated “Sticker-Snag” Housing: The motor casing is smoothed and tapered with zero external seams, preventing the tool from catching on brambles or dense twigs when pulling the trimmer out of a thick hedge.

• Screw-On Replaceable Tip Protector: Designed for the real world, the tip protector isn’t just a guard; it’s a replaceable wear-part that allows you to “scuff” the ground or walls while cutting without damaging the permanent blade assembly.
