Stihl HS 82 R Hedgetrimmer 30″

The STIHL HS 82 R is the industry standard for professional “rejuvenation” pruning, specifically engineered for the high-volume clearing tasks that typical hedge trimmers can’t touch. Unlike the high-speed “T” (Trimming) models meant for fine topiary, the “R” (Rough-cut) version features a specialized gearbox with a lower stroke rate and significantly higher torque. This allows the 38mm wide-tooth blades to bite through thick, woody stems—like hawthorn and laurel—with a massive cutting force that refuses to stall. For the Irish landscaper tackling heavy farm boundaries or neglected estate hedges, the HS 82 R offers a reliable, low-vibration solution that prioritizes raw power over simple speed, ensuring a clean cut through branches that would normally require a chainsaw.

• Low-Speed, High-Torque Gearbox: Engineered specifically for heavy reduction work. The lower stroke rate 3,100  rpm creates a “crushing” cut rather than a “snapping” cut, which is vital for the health of thicker, woody hedge varieties.

• 38mm “Wide-Gap” Pruning Blades: Featuring a taller tooth profile and wider spacing than any other petrol unit in its class, this machine allows branches to sit deeper in the blade for a guaranteed single-pass cut.

• Long-Life “Cyclone” Air Filter System: Designed for the dustiest environments. This multi-stage system uses centrifugal force to eject larger dirt particles before they reach the filter, drastically extending service intervals and protecting the 2-MIX engine.

• Anti-Vibration “Spring-Suspension”: STIHL has replaced traditional rubber buffers with precisely calculated steel springs. This isolates the $22.7 \text{ cc}$ engine vibrations so effectively that you can operate the tool for a full professional shift without the risk of “white finger” (HAVS).

• Single-Lever Logic with “Always-Ready” Switch: The stop button automatically springs back to the ‘start’ position. This eliminates the #1 cause of flooded engines—forgetting to flip the switch before pulling the cord.

• Screwed-On Tip & Cut Protector: The blade tip is shielded by a replaceable steel guard, allowing you to cut right down to ground level or against stone walls without damaging the expensive cutting teeth.

• Tool-Free “Quick-Flip” Filler Caps: Patented fuel and oil caps that can be opened and closed wearing heavy work gloves, ensuring no grit enters the tanks during field refuelling.
