The Silky Gunfighter is a practical pruning saw, considering you can easily replace the saw blade. This saw is perfect when pruning trees and bushes. The fixed blade ensures that the saw won’t accidentally close.
The handle is made from a comfortable rubber-like materials and feels great in hand. After use or on the road you store the Gunfighter in the solid plastic sheath. It is enhanced with a rubber belt loop. It is secured to your belt via a click system. As such you can remove the sheath from your belt, without having to loosen your belt. The sheaths are suited for both left and right-handed use.
This saw is enhanced with 6 – 8.5 teeth per 30 mm. As such it is suited coarser saw work and fresh wood. You can also get replacement saw blades for this saw.
The blade of this Silky saw is very thin and hard. As such it will be amazing to use, but it does require a little attention as you use it. This saw is a pull saw. This means that the blade cannot bend as you use it. Make sure that when moving it forward the blade is never forced. This could namely cause it to break. Always remove the weight to free the saw. As with any saw: let the saw do the work and don’t force anything. This won’t wear you out as much and will benefit the life of the saw. By holding the handle in many different parts you can control how much wood you remove. Holding it close to the blade means less pressure on the blade and little wood removal. As such you can work accurately. When you hold the handle further back the pressure will be bigger, enabling you to work faster, but less precise.
The Silky Gunfighter is enhanced with a slightly curved blade with progressive serrations and a nickel coating. As such the teeth of the saw retain their sharpness longer. As soon as the saw is no longer sharp, you can easily replace the blade. If you maintain the saw well the teeth retain their sharpness longer. It is possible with olive oil. Resin dissolves in olive oil and ensures that the saw stays sharp for a longer period of time. More aggressive products affect the rubber of the handle.
